Freestanding Base Kitchen Units

You can choose from the options with a drawer over the cabinet door, a full height door or a stack of three or four drawers. All single units are 880 millimetres tall and you can choose between widths from 300 to 650 millimetres depending on the size of your requirements. Please note that these sizes also include the worktop. If you are looking for just the unit, then you can choose options from 250 to 600 millimetres wide and these units are 575 millimetres deep without the top.

Each of our options features a durable pine shelf on the inside of the cabinet. Our pine cupboards are excellent options for any new kitchen remodel and for customers who wish to install the units themselves, or for individuals who have a contractor available. These cabinets come with a 50 millimetre void space behind the backboards to give you room for pipes or other utilities that need to run behind the units.

Each counter comes with round corners and edges for a finished look that is ready to use upon installation, they can also be provided with square ends if preferred to butt up to cookers or walls on request. Murdoch Troon uses durable clear Osmo polyx oil to protect your solid wood worktops, it is supplied fully finished, with a coat of wood protector and three coats of polyx oil to give a durable and easily maintained finish. The back of the counter has a 40 millimetre upstand where the worktops meet walls to provide a useful seal and also a start point for lining up tiles or mosaic sheets for your backsplash.

For customers looking at pine cabinets, we have a beautiful product to consider which features two drawers over a primary two door cabinet with the option to include or exclude the worktop to fit your requirements. We can also supply units without the drawers, providing a really useful two door storage unit.

Inside you will find one shelf that extends across the entire width of the cabinet and this product is available from 700 to 1200 millimetre widths.

Each cabinet is 880 millimetres tall which is in line with our single cabinet options and if you wish to order your new cabinet without the worktop the widths available are from 650 to 1150 millimetres. All of our cabinets are built to the high standards and durable construction that our customers would expect from Murdoch Troon, which includes dovetail joints, wooden runners and roller door catches being used. We also provide the option of soft close runners at an additional cost.

Our three drawers over three doors standalone kitchen unit is a traditional base unit that’s available in 1250mm-1750mm length, 800mm high with a width of 600mm. The cupboard has a single fixed shelf to maximise storage space and the 50mm void at the back means there’s ample space for pipework or to allow your unit to be scribed in to accommodate any quirks of your kitchen walls. We can also supply a worktop with rounded edges for maximum safety and an upstand to provide a good base for tiling. Worktops are treated with Osmo oil, and when we install your kitchen, we’ll give you tips on how to keep it looking good. As with all our bespoke furniture you’ve the option to choose from a range of 42 doorknobs, d-handles and cup handles and a collection of colours to give you a kitchen that feels like a reflection of your unique style.

If you prefer, you can order this standalone kitchen unit without the worktop, in lengths 1200mm-1750mm, with a carcass height of 800mm and depth of 575mm.

The layout can be changed to have a stack of three drawers down the centre of the unit with a full height storage cupboard at each end if you prefer.

This unit is available in 1800mm – 2350mm lengths, at a height of 880mm and a worktop depth of 600mm. A single shelf runs the length of the unit, doubling your storage space, and the 50mm void at the back will accommodate pipes and allow us to scribe your kitchen to fit any walls that are less than square. Carefully crafted features like strong durable dovetail joints, which are almost impossible to pull apart, and roller catches mean the beauty of your kitchen is sure to be long lasting. We can also offer the option of soft close drawers which help preserve and protect, as well as minimising noise.

Our pine kitchens come with plain doors, allowing you the opportunity to customise your kitchen by choosing from our range of quality handles, and choosing your ideal colour scheme from over 16 colours ranging from quirky to classic. This unit can be supplied with a 600mm deep worktop with rounded edges and corners to make sure your kitchen is a safe space for all the family, and as part of our bespoke ordering service we’ll supply the upstand separately if you prefer. Our freestanding corner cabinet is available with or without the worktop included. If you wish to include the worktop this kitchen unit is 1200 by 1200 millimetres in length with the carcass length being 1175 by 1175 millimetres. If you wish to order our cabinet without the worktop the cabinet length is 1175 by 1175 millimetres. These units feature the same distinct characteristics as all of our Murdoch Troon product range. Our L-shape cabinets have a 50 millimetre void in the back of each side for ease of levelling and fitting this unit true to the wall. This space also provides ample room for pipes to be hidden. This unit has just been used to show how these units work, they can actually be made in any size upon request.

If you choose to include the worktop when ordering your new L-shape corner kitchen unit the overhang of this from the unit will be 25 millimetres on each side. We also include features such as rounded corners and edges in line with our single and two door base units to match our style. We also include a 40 millimetre upstand piece for the worktop to help provide a starting point for tiling.
